Wirral seek expressions of interest to tender

Tendering for the provision of a Telecare service.
Applications are invited from competent organisations to supply a Telecare service for a period of 3 years. The contract will be operational from April 1st 2008.
Wirral is mainstreaming the Assistive Technology service. We are looking for a well established, dynamic service provider who can demonstrate a commitment to quality and will bring their skill and expertise to Wirral Adult Social Services and partners, in developing a responsive mainstream Assistive Technology service.
The service will involve:
· Working proactively with ordering officers in the assessment of appropriate equipment, providing advice and promoting safe risk management in relation to the technical/practical provision of Assistive Technology and its associated response. Where appropriate this may include making recommendations for equipment to meet the need identified.
· The installation and maintenance of Telecare equipment.
· The provision of a fully staffed monitoring service to respond to Telecare alerts.
· A mobile service to provide a response to Telecare activations.
· The provision of an efficient equipment stock storage and management facility.
The service will be operational 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
As part of your tender application, you will be expected to provide method statements to qualify and evidence how you will meet the requirements of the service specification. We would also be happy to look at innovative operating procedures you may wish to submit as part of the tender.
The contract will be awarded to a service provider who has achieved full Telecare Services Association accreditation, or who is able to demonstrate that they are actively working towards accreditation, which must be achieved within twelve months of contract commencement.
